Lockheed Martin Internship

Lockheed Martin Space

Littleton, Colorado

Summer 2024

May 2024 - Present Day

Electro Mechanical Engineer

Intern

During my three-month internship at Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado, I focused on three key projects that exemplified my growth and technical contributions. I developed an electronics adapter mounting plate, designed an antenna array radome from concept through manufacturing using CREO PTC, and created a DSR6 guide that served as a comprehensive reference for completing DSR6 drawings.

For the electronics adapter plate, I engineered a solution that optimized limited assembly space, reduced vibration, and accommodated both electronic components and wiring. A key feature of my design was reusability, allowing universal application across multiple programs.

With the radome project, I achieved a full redesign to improve RF decay margin, noise isolation, and assembly efficiency. This redesign reduced signal interference risks and validated functionality through extensive tolerance, stress, cost, and manufacturability analyses.

In developing the DSR6 guide, I created a foundational training resource outlining essential DSR6 requirements and providing step-by-step instructions for various tasks. This guide, intended for new employees, addressed a significant need for a standardized reference on these complex standards, which had no prior documentation to build upon. This experience not only strengthened my technical and design skills but also provided insight into Lockheed Martin's rigorous standards and commitment to quality.
